The new year brings us a new Discovery Weekend to Oxford – home to the world-famous Oxford University. Our group will enjoy a walking tour, led by an Oxford student, and we’ll experience how the university blends seamlessly with the city. Views of the Radcliffe Camera, Bridge of Sighs, and Bodleian Library are only a few of the beautiful buildings we will see on the tour! Yet Oxford has so many more things to do and see, and the ancient cobbled streets of the city lead you to various shops, restaurants, and cafes to explore and enjoy!

‘Tis the season for some holiday spirit! December brings us ever closer to Christmas, and the Cambridge Discovery Weekend brings the holiday cheer with its annual North Pole Christmas Market. We’ll go ice skating together in the centre of this winter wonderland – gliding into the holiday season. And with a whole weekend to explore, there is plenty of time to experience the rest of Cambridge! The best sightseeing in this city is free – so don’t forget to check out the Fitzwilliam Museum, stroll along the canal to Mathematical Bridge, or browse the many antique shops throughout the city centre.

For our first Discovery Weekend of the year, we are heading to Manchester – home of the Manchester United Football Club. A private tour of the Old Trafford Stadium awaits us where you will have access to areas normally restricted to the players! Plus, with a weekend away in Manchester, the city has so much more to offer. Whether it’s a trip to the exciting and interactive Science and Industry Museum, wandering through the aisles of one of the UK’s biggest Primark stores, or simply exploring the historic streets of the Northern Quarter featuring mind-blowing modern street art – Manchester really does have something for everyone.

Lake District or Jurassic Coast

A bank holiday is the perfect time to stretch our Discovery Weekend over 3 days! And as we move closer to the summer, it’s time to get back into nature and (hopefully) into some sunshine! Whether you choose to visit the Lake District in the north or the Jurassic Coast in the south, we’ll get out of the cities and experience some of the UK’s most breathtaking views in areas of natural beauty. Don’t miss out on making unforgettable memories with your EF exchange friends on this last trip of the year before Farewell Days.
